Carolina Reaper

Carolina Reaper is one the "heavy metal" peppers of the pepper world. Bred by Ed Currie of PuckerButt Pepper Company, it held the Guinness World Record for the hottest chili in the world for a decade (roughly 1.6 to 2.2 million Scoville Heat Units). When you are dealing with a Reaper, you aren't just making a sauce; you are managing a chemical reaction. Most people expect the Reaper to taste like battery acid, but it is actually a descendant of the Habanero family.
